Social Work

Life can bring challenges that are hard to manage on your own.

Stepwise Social work helps you find your footing, understand your options, and feel supported as you navigate change.

Social Work

Social work focuses on understanding the whole person, their relationships, and the systems that influence their life. It is a professional and accredited field that supports people across many areas of wellbeing and community life.

Sonia’s background in social work means she brings a deep understanding of the challenges people experience, such as:

  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Family and domestic violence

  • Addiction, gambling, and alcohol or other drug use

  • Poverty, housing, and financial stress

  • Trauma and recovery

  • Disability and physical health

  • Discrimination and social injustice

  • Relationship and family challenges

In her role, Sonia provides practical support, counselling, and guidance to help people navigate services and make informed choices.

This can include writing reports and support letters, attending meetings, or linking people with community and health providers.

Within the NDIS, social work helps address barriers that can limit independence, including housing, justice, Centrelink, child protection, and health systems.

At its heart, social work is about respect, dignity, and helping people move toward self-determination and a more fulfilling life.

Who Support Coordination Helps
